I am a gi-normous fan of Top Chef on BRAVO TV. Recently Lisa made Peanut Butter mashed potatoes. My husband adores PB (ewwww) but after reading all the boards and blogs not one single person posted their recipe or a recipe. I have done a Food Network search, Google, Yahoo etc. etc. No luck. I found a lot of Peanut butter mashed potato candy recipes but after reading them there was quite a bit of PB. According to all the other places I searched each said that a small amount of PB "really makes these mashed potatoes: Creamier, nice flavor etc".
I'm thinking make my regular mashed potatoes using Sour cream, chicken broth, bacon etc then adding like a tablespoon of PB? Should I melt the PB in nuker 1st?
There are quite a few of you guys out there that really post some awesome recipes so "Help a girl out".
I'd like to try these for Father's Day maybe with a rack of Lamb? Would they be good with Lamb or should I try a steak?

First, I think you are very sweet and very crazy to try it!
When I watched that episode, I thought they sounded really nasty, and I even like peanut butter!!
How many recipe sites have you tried? I have a few sites, but not sure what they'd have for peanut butter potatoes...I'll check and email you if I find anything.
You must love that guy!!
Sunshine: You have to love a guy that puts up with as much of the stuff that I get into! We were once told it was like Cyndi Lauper being married to Robert Young. LOL
I also tried Cooks.com, recipes R us anything that came up.
wow...I never even heard of these...or imagined in my wildest dreams...I love PB too...just not sure about them in potatoes...let me know how it turns out. It might be like those mayonnaise cakes...sounds gross but you never really taste it in there.
I love peanut butter, and I LOVE mashed potatoes, but those two things don't belong anywhere near each other.
You are one brave lady.
NI,Burg & Sunshine:
Heres what I have found so far...Make your mashed tatoes, limited butter, now add 1 tblspn CREAMY PB mix well. Taste, should have a lite "smoky" kind of taste. If not add a 1/2 teaspoon @ a time.
So, I'm gonna try. This has been the closest I have been getting to a "real recipe".
I LOVE Top Chef. Hate Lisa. And I think you're crazy to try them, but they do usually post the recipes after the show. Hmmm.
Heather: Only if they are the winning recipe that night. & I agree CAN'T STAND Lisa want Stephanie win.
Did you watch last night??? If not, I won't spoil it for you.
FYI, I found Lisa's recipe for the potatoes on the Bravo site:
Peanut Butter Mashed Potatoes:
1 cup roasted peanuts
1/2 cup fresh peanut butter
1 oz peanut oil
2 lb Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled
1/2 cup melted salted butter
1 cup warm heavy cream
Salt to taste
HEATHER! I love you! I can't tell you how many hours I spent on that website looking. HOW did you find it...never mind Your awesome!!!!
THANK YOU!!!!!
